French Onion Meatloaf 🧅🍖 Protein 35g

A rich twist on a classic—juicy meatloaf infused with deep caramelized onion flavor, topped with a savory glaze and melted cheese for the ultimate comforting, savory bite.

📝 Ingredients:
✦ 400g ground beef
✦ 1 large onion, thinly sliced
✦ 2 tbsp butter
✦ 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
✦ 1 egg
✦ 2 tbsp milk
✦ 2 cloves garlic, minced
✦ 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
✦ 1/2 tsp thyme
✦ 1/2 tsp salt
✦ 1/2 tsp black pepper
✦ 100g mozzarella or Swiss cheese, shredded

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking dish.

2️⃣- In a pan, melt butter and slowly cook onions until deeply caramelized.

3️⃣- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and half of the onions.

4️⃣- Shape into a loaf and place in the baking dish.

5️⃣- Bake for 35–40 minutes.

6️⃣- Top with remaining caramelized onions and shredded cheese.

7️⃣- Return to oven for 10–15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

8️⃣- Let rest before slicing and serving.
