Savor these cheese-filled jalapeño popper bites, with a crispy exterior and a spicy twist, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients :
Shredded cheddar cheese.
Cream cheese.
Diced jalapeños.
Cooked and crumbled bacon.
Minced garlic.
All-purpose flour.
Corn-starch.
Kosher salt.
Pepper.
Paprika.
Onion powder.
Room temperature eggs.
Panko breadcrumbs.
Garlic powder.
Cayenne pepper.
Instructions :
Combine shredded cheese, cream cheese, jalapeños, bacon, and garlic in a large mixing bowl.
Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Scoop small portions using a spoon, forming about 18 balls with your hands.
Set the formed balls on a flat surface and place them in the freezer for an hour.
In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and set aside.
Prepare another bowl with flour, corn-starch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
Add panko breadcrumbs to a third small bowl.
Once chilled, take a bite and coat it in the flour mix, dip it in the egg, and then cover it with panko.
Return the coated bites to the freezer for 20 more minutes.
Spray your air fryer with a non-stick spray and arrange the bites inside.
Cook at 340°F for around 7 minutes or until they achieve a golden brown color.
Continue frying remaining bites as your air fryer capacity permits, freezing unused bites until ready to fry.
Allow them to cool down for about 5 minutes before serving.
Serve plain or with a dipping sauce, like ranch or blue cheese.
