๐Ÿฅฃย Seafood Bisque with Crab, Shrimp & Lobster

๐Ÿงพย Ingredients:

 

 

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup carrots, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup dry white wineย (optional)

  • 3 cups seafood stockย (or chicken broth)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 4 oz cooked lump crab meat

  • 4 oz cooked shrimp, chopped

  • 4 oz cooked lobster meat, chopped

  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

STEP 1: SAUTร‰ THE BASE

 

 

In a large pot, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, celery, and carrots. Sautรฉ until soft and fragrant, about 5โ€“7 minutes.

STEP 2: BUILD THE BISQUE

Stir in flour and cook for 1โ€“2 minutes to eliminate the raw taste. Slowly pour in white wine (if using), stirring constantly, and cook for another 2โ€“3 minutes.

STEP 3: ADD LIQUIDS

Gradually add the seafood stock while stirring. Bring to a gentle simmer. Add milk, cream, Old Bay, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.

STEP 4: BLEND (OPTIONAL)

 

 

For a smooth bisque, use an immersion blender or regular blender to puree the soup base until silky (skip if you prefer chunky texture).

STEP 5: ADD SEAFOOD

Add in the crab, shrimp, and lobster. Stir gently and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.

STEP 6: SERVE

Ladle into bowls, garnish with fresh parsley and a drizzle of cream if desired. Serve with crusty bread or oyster crackers.
