Golden Holiday Puff Pastry Trees with Ham and Melty Cheese
Ingredients:
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
12 slices deli ham, thinly sliced
12 slices cheese (cheddar, gouda, Swiss, or mozzarella)
24 wooden skewers
Optional Garlic Butter Glaze
4 tablespoons melted butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Sesame or poppy seeds for topping (optional)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lay one sheet of puff pastry flat and top evenly with cheese, then ham.
Cover with the second pastry sheet and gently press to seal.
Cut into 1-inch wide strips.
Thread each strip onto a skewer and fold back and forth into a tree shape.
Combine melted butter, garlic, and parsley. Brush generously over each tree.
Sprinkle with seeds if desired.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Let cool slightly and serve warm or at room temperature.
