Warm Apple Custard Bliss Cups
Like apple pie met crème brûlée and made magic in your oven.
2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups milk (whole or 2%)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F)
In a pan, sauté apples in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for 5–6 minutes.
Divide the apple mixture into 4 small ramekins or one baking dish.
In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, milk, and salt until smooth.
Pour custard mixture over the apples.
Place ramekins in a deep baking dish and fill halfway with hot water (water bath).
Bake 30–35 min until custard is set but still jiggles slightly.
Cool slightly before serving warm, or chill for a creamy cold version.
Optional: sprinkle cinnamon or add caramel drizzle.
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
