Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

  • 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • Salt & black pepper to taste

  • 2 cups cooked egg noodles (or sliced potatoes)

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

  • Cooking spray or a little oil


Instructions

  1. Cook beef
    In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess fat.

  2. Season & sauce
    Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes.

  3. Assemble casserole
    Lightly grease a baking dish. Layer half the noodles, half the meat sauce, cottage cheese, then repeat layers.

  4. Add cheese
    Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.

  5. Bake
    Bake at 375°F / 190°C for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
