1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (optional)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

2 cups cooked egg noodles (or sliced potatoes)

1 cup cottage cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Cook beef
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned; drain excess fat. -
Season & sauce
Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5 minutes. -
Assemble casserole
Lightly grease a baking dish. Layer half the noodles, half the meat sauce, cottage cheese, then repeat layers. -
Add cheese
Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top. -
Bake
Bake at 375°F / 190°C for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
