Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 2 medium apples, peeled & finely diced

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (or regular sugar)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Powdered sugar or caramel drizzle (optional, for topping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cook apples
    In a pan, melt butter. Add apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Cook 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly thickened. Cool slightly.

  3. Prepare pastry
    Roll puff pastry and cut into small squares (about 2½ inches).

  4. Fill & seal
    Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each square. Fold or pinch edges. Brush tops with egg wash.

  5. Bake
    Bake 15–18 minutes until puffed and golden. Cool slightly before serving.
