🥔 Cheesy Beef & Potato Casserole
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds ground beef
4–5 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 small onion, diced
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Add tomato sauce and diced tomatoes to the beef mixture. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
Spread half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle a layer of cheese.
Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and finish with remaining cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
