Servings

12–16 pieces

Ingredients

  • 2 large oranges (navel or mandarin)

  • 8 oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate (chips or chopped bar)

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter (optional, for smooth melting)

  • Optional toppings: sea salt, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, orange zest

Instructions

  1. Slice oranges
Wash oranges well and slice into ¼-inch rounds. Pat completely dry with paper towels.

  2. Melt chocolate
Melt chocolate with coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

  3. Dip oranges
Dip each orange slice halfway or fully into melted chocolate. Let excess drip off.

  4. Add toppings
Place on parchment paper and sprinkle with desired toppings before chocolate sets.

  5. Set chocolate
Let sit at room temperature or refrigerate 15–20 minutes until firm.

  6. Serve or store
    Enjoy immediately or store chilled.

❓ Q & A

Q: Should I dry the oranges first?
Yes — moisture prevents chocolate from sticking properly.

Q: Can I use milk or white chocolate?
Absolutely. Dark chocolate is most popular, but all work well.

Q: How long do they last?
Up to 3 days refrigerated in an airtight container.

Q: Can I use mandarins or clementines?
Yes, they’re great for smaller bites.

Q: Are these healthy?
They’re naturally sweet with vitamin C — especially good with dark chocolate.
