Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup red and green sprinkles (or mini holiday-themed M&M’s)
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Cream Butter and Sugars:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
Incorporate Wet Ingredients:
Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures:
Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Add Mix-Ins:
Fold in the chocolate chips and 1/4 cup of the red and green sprinkles (or holiday M&M’s) until evenly distributed.
Scoop and Bake:
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Top each cookie with a sprinkle of the remaining sprinkles for a festive look.
Bake:
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers remain soft. Do not overbake.
Cool and Serve:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely. Enjoy!
