These Christmas Chocolate Kahlua & Baileys Pudding Shots are rich, creamy, and indulgent with a smooth chocolate base and festive Irish cream and coffee liqueur flavor. They’re easy to make, require no baking, and are a guaranteed hit at holiday gatherings. Finished with whipped cream and holiday sprinkles, they look just as good as they taste!

Ingredients (Makes about 20–24 shots)

  • 1 (3.9 oz / 110 g) box instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 2 cups cold milk

  • ½ cup Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)

  • ½ cup Baileys Irish Cream

  • 1 cup whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

  • Whipped cream (for topping)

  • Chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or Christmas sprinkles (optional garnish)

  • Small plastic shot cups (1.5–2 oz size)

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Pudding

In a large bowl, whisk together:

  • Instant chocolate pudding mix

  • Cold milk

Whisk for about 2 minutes until thick and smooth.

Step 2: Add the Liqueurs

Slowly whisk in:

  • Kahlúa

  • Baileys Irish Cream

Mix until fully combined and creamy.

Step 3: Fold in Whipped Topping

Gently fold in the whipped topping using a spatula. This makes the pudding light, fluffy, and mousse-like.

Step 4: Fill the Cups

Spoon or pipe the pudding mixture into shot cups, filling each about ¾ full.

Step 5: Chill

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 24 hours) until set.

Step 6: Garnish & Serve

Just before serving, top each shot with:

  • Whipped cream

  • Chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, or festive sprinkles

Serve chilled and enjoy responsibly!

Tips for Best Results

  • Use instant pudding, not cook-and-serve.

  • Chill the pudding shots well for the best texture.

  • Use piping bags or zip-top bags with the corner snipped for neat filling.

  • Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.

Q/A Section

Q1: How strong are these pudding shots?
A: They’re mild to medium in strength—smooth and creamy rather than overpowering. You can reduce the alcohol slightly and add more milk if you prefer a lighter shot.

Q2: Can I make these ahead of time?
A: Yes! These pudding shots can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Add whipped cream and garnishes just before serving.

Q3: Can I make them alcohol-free?
A: Absolutely. Replace Kahlúa with strong coffee or chocolate milk, and replace Baileys with Irish cream–flavored coffee creamer.

Q4: Can I use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
A: Yes! Whip 1 cup heavy cream with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the pudding.

Q5: How long do pudding shots last in the fridge?
A: They’re best within 2–3 days when kept covered and refrigerated.
