- 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef (90% lean or higher)
- 4 cups shredded cabbage (green or Napa cabbage)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for flavor)
- 1 tsp sesame oil (use sparingly)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

- Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions:
- Prepare the ingredients: Shred the cabbage, chop the onion, and mince the garlic and ginger.
- Cook the beef: Heat the olive oil or spray a skillet with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add aromatics: Add chopped onion, garlic, and ginger to the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add cabbage: Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cabbage softens.
- Season: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), black pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped green onions and red pepper flakes if desired.
Tips to Keep It Healthy:
- Use lean beef or ground turkey/chicken.
- Keep the oil minimal—preferably spray or 1 tsp of sesame oil for flavor.
- Opt for low-sodium soy sauce to control salt.
- Add a variety of vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra fiber and nutrients.
