Ingredients
500g lean ground meat (turkey or extra-lean beef)
1 egg
2 tbsp breadcrumbs (or oat fiber / almond flour for lower carbs)
Garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper
600g potatoes, thinly sliced (or swap half with zucchini for fewer carbs)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can chopped tomatoes (no added sugar)
1 tsp Italian herbs
80–100g reduced-fat shredded cheese
Optional: light mozzarella or Parmesan cheese for extra flavor
Instructions
Make the meatballs
Mix ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices. Form small meatballs.
Brown them lightly
Sear in a nonstick pan (no or minimal oil) until just browned—don’t cook fully.
Prepare the sauce
In the same pan, sauté onion + garlic, add tomatoes + herbs, simmer 5–10 min.
Layer it up
In a baking dish:
Layer potatoes (or potato + zucchini mix)
Add meatballs
Pour sauce
Repeat layers
Top with cheese
Sprinkle reduced-fat cheese evenly.
Bake
180°C (350°F) for ~40–45 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden.
WW-Friendly Tips
Use extra-lean meat (5% fat or less) → lowers points
Swap some potatoes with zucchini or eggplant
Go for reduced-fat cheese (big point saver!)
Keep portions balanced: pair with a big salad
