Crispy and juicy shrimp burgers

– 1 pound fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
– 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
– 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
– 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or your favorite seafood seasoning)
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 4 burger buns
– Lettuce, tomato, and any other desired toppings
– Tartar sauce or your favorite burger sauce (optional)


1. Pat dry the peeled and deveined shrimp with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Chop the shrimp into small pieces, ensuring they are roughly the same size.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, breadcrumbs, red onion, cilantro, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lime juice, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

3. Form the shrimp mixture into patties, shaping them to match the size of your burger buns. The mixture should make approximately 4 patties.

4. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.

5. Cook the shrimp patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Be careful not to overcook them to maintain juiciness.

6. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns.

7. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a minute.

8. Assemble the shrimp burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Add lettuce, tomato slices, and any other desired toppings. Optionally, spread tartar sauce or your favorite burger sauce on the top bun.

9. Serve the shrimp burgers immediately while they’re still warm and crispy.
