Foil Packet Grilled Potatoes with Green Onion
Smoky, buttery potatoes cooked in foil over a grill and finished with fresh green onion—simple, rustic, and full of flavor.
🧾 Ingredients (serves 2–4)
2–3 medium potato, cut into bite-sized cubes or wedges
2–3 tbsp butter (or olive oil for lighter version)
2–3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika (optional, for smoky color)
½ tsp dried oregano or thyme (optional)
2–3 tbsp chopped green onions (for garnish)
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the foil packet
Use a large sheet of heavy-duty foil
Lightly grease the center with butter or oil
2. Season the potatoes
In a bowl, toss:
Potato cubes
Melted butter or oil
Garlic
Salt, pepper, and spices
Mix until evenly coated.
3. Assemble packet
Place seasoned potatoes in the center of the foil
Fold tightly into a sealed packet (leave a little space inside for steam)
4. Grill
Place packet on a medium-hot grill
Cook for 20–30 minutes, turning once halfway
Potatoes should be tender and lightly caramelized
5. Finish & serve
Carefully open the foil (hot steam!)
Sprinkle generously with fresh chopped green onions
Optional: add extra butter on top while hot
