MOUNDS CAKE – Don’t LOSE this Recipe Ingredients
For the Brownie
โข 1 cup unsalted butter
โข 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
โข 3/4 cup cocoa powder
โข 1/2 teaspoon salt
โข 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
โข 3 large eggs
โข 1 cup all-purpose flour
For the Chocolate Frosting
โข 1/2 cup butter, softened
โข 2/3 cup cocoa powder
โข 3 cups powdered sugar
โข 1/3 cup milk
โข 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Garnish
โข Chocolate shavings or curls
Instructions
Making the Brownie
1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with a spoon after each addition.
4. Add flour and mix until well combined.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out slightly moist with batter.
7. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack.
Making the Chocolate Frosting
1. Combine butter and cocoa in a large bowl and beat until smooth.
2. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, beating on low speed until combined and then on high speed until frosting is smooth.
3. Stir in vanilla.
Assembly
1. Spread frosting over cooled brownies.
2. Sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
