Turkey Cranberry Sliders
Ingredients
For the Turkey Patties:
– 1 lb ground turkey (454 g)
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (60 g)
– 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped (40 g)
– 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (15 g)
– 1 large egg, beaten
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp salt
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/2 tsp dried thyme
– 2 tbsp olive oil (30 ml)
For the Cranberry Sauce:
– 1 cup fresh cranberries (100 g)
– 1/2 cup sugar (100 g)
– 1/2 cup water (120 ml)
– 1 tbsp lemon juice (15 ml)
For the Sliders:
– 8 slider buns
– 4 oz cream cheese (113 g), softened
– 1 cup baby spinach (30 g)
For Garnish (optional):
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for sprinkling)
Directions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook until cranberries burst and sauce thickens, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Mix until fully blended but do not overmix.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Form the turkey mixture into 8 equal patties. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
4. Toast the slider buns in the skillet or oven until golden brown.
5. Spread softened cream cheese on each slider bun. Layer with a turkey patty, a tablespoon of cranberry sauce, and a handful of spinach. Top with the other half of the bun.
6. If desired, sprinkle with fresh parsley for garnish.
