Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half horizontally
  • 1/4 cup light butter (unsalted), softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup reduced-sugar or sugar-free pizza sauce
  • 1-2 cups part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • Turkey pepperoni slices (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Spread the softened light butter over each bread slice and sprinkle with garlic powder. Place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or until they are lightly toasted.
  3. Spread the reduced-sugar or sugar-free pizza sauce evenly over the top of each slice. Add any additional toppings, such as turkey pepperoni slices, if desired. Top with part-skim mozzarella cheese.
  4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
